In any terror attack or any unpleasant event when lives of innocent citizens are in threat, our security personnel, without caring threat on their lives, rescue the citizen’s lives and neutralize the insurgents. One paramilitary force which is always required in crisis like terror attack or insurgency, National Security Guards (NSG), has always proven itself deadly against terrorists. NSG Commandos are trained well to take on difficult most conditions while confronting with insurgents. Aftermath the encounter, terrorist are neutralized obviously by our brave commandos but few commando too loose their lives. The precious lives which are highly required for our country should not end up like this.

After a decade-long wait, the basic types of equipment required by the elite forces of India who safeguard the country have been met by government by investing more in the defense sector. The National Security Guard (NSG) which is India’s premier counter-terrorist force and provides security to VIPs, conducts anti-sabotage checks and is responsible for neutralizing terrorist threats to vital installations, was facing huge disappointments for a long period due to lack of combat weapons and ammunition.

Recently, the Black Cats made their debut in the Republic Day parade showcasing various new equipment of the Indian Army upgraded by government. The Indian Army’s missile firing capability T-90 ‘Bhishma’ tank, Infantry Combat Vehicle BMP-2K, Mobile Autonomous Launcher of the BrahMos Missile System, Weapon Locating Radar ‘Swathi’ and Akash Weapons System and Dhanush Gun System were among the main draws in the mechanized columns.

In the recent 2 years infantry weapons, explosives, rockets and mortars have seen a huge purchase to meet the needs of Para Commandos and to counter-terrorism. Ending wait for nearly two decades, Indian army will finally get modern ballistic helmets for all its jawans fighting terrorism in J&K and Northeast.

Ministry of defense, in December, cleared Indian army’s proposal to procure 1. 58 lakh ballistic helmets to an Indian firm worth Rs. 170-180 crore. Also, the commando will be provided with bullet proof jackets and other equipments to provide them maximum protection from retaliatory firing and attack of toxic gases and chemicals.

Very positive news, at least it will boost morale and enthusiasm of our armed forces. Lives of our solders, who enable country protected from any internal or external attack, is highly precious and isn’t meant to end up while countering with attackers. Hope more facilities and upgradation will be carried out by government.
