Eyes – require extra care.
Eyes – The most precious gift from God, enables us to see various colours of life and it requires extra care to keep eyes healthy. These most precious gifts are most vulnerable as well. A small negligence can be big threat for our eyes. Our eyes bear lots of stress when we spend hours on reading, watching TV, working on computers, resulting weakening eye sight and increasing spectacles number. Let us try to find how we can protect our eyes from various factors which weaken our eye sight –
Keep appropriate distance from object – While reading, watching TV and using computers, keep a appropriate distance of 2 – 3 feet of the object being read. Staring the screen from less than two feet keeps more stress on eyes affects the eye sight.
Take a break – Do not stare computer screen continuously for long hours. Take periodic breaks and blink your eyes while working on computers. Defocus from the object after every 15 – 20 minutes and close your eyes for some seconds and once again get continue to work. Keep repeating this exercise till you work for long hours.
Work in good lighting conditions – Never read or stare computer screen in dark lighting conditions. Try to work in natural lighting, if not possible work under white light bulb or tube.
Eat green vegetable and plentiful fruits – Various vegetable and fruits have been medically declared beneficial for improving eye sight. Pomegranate, broccoli, carrot, spinach, reddish are very beneficial for eyes. Include green salad in your meals. If non vegetarian, eat cold water fish like tuna, salmon or any oily sea fish.
Wash eyes everyday – We take bath to remove dirt and dust from body, same washing is required for eyes. Wash and rinse your eyes every day, preferably before sleeping. Washing helps removing dirt, dust and harmful particles from eyes.
Wear sunglasses while outdoor – Use effective UV and dust protecting eye glasses while driving or long outdoor stays. Prefer to have a branded and certified sunglasses.
Consult eye specialist – Never ignore continuous itching, irritation or any eye related problem. Consult eye surgeon if any difficulty is faced in reading or watching.
