The Maruti Vitara Brezza, a new launch by Maruti Suzuki Ltd in compact SUV with petrol as well as diesel variants is attracting huge car lovers for past couple of months. The petrol version of the vehicle will be powered by the new 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine that is tuned to develop 110bhp of power and 170Nm of torque. This powertrain will also be used for the Baleno RS. Initially, the carmaker will imported the Boosterjet motor for both the vehicles.
The Maruti Suzuki Brezza, currently, is available with a 1.3-litre, 89bhp, diesel engine. This powertrain has been borrowed from the company’s mid-sized sedan Ciaz. With compact and lighter body-built, the Maruti Vitara Brezza is claimed to return a fuel efficiency of 24.3kmpl. Transmission duties are taken care of by a 5-speed manual gearbox. Though, an AMT unit could come as an option at a later stage. Available in seven variants spread across three trims – LDi, VDi and ZDi,– the Maruti Vitara Brezza has received an overwhelming response from across the country, and registered over 5,600 bookings within 2 days of launch. The vehicle is reported to have a waiting period of up to 2 months, as its production got affected due to agitation in Haryana.

Unlike the S-Cross crossover and Baleno premium hatchback, the Maruti Vitara Brezza is being sold through regular Maruti Suzuki dealerships across the nation. Positioned below the S-Cross premium crossover, the Vitara Brezza is Maruti’s first ever sub-4 meter compact SUV in the country. The Maruti Vitara Brezza, with balanced proportion and a high ground clearance, looks quite aggressive and sporty. What further enhance its SUV-ish appeal are upright hood, square wheel arches, high shoulder line, short overhangs and bold stance. Maruti Vitara Brezza Engine & Transmission – The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza has been offered only with a 1.3-litre DDiS 200 Multijet diesel powertrain that belts out a maximum power of 89bhp at 4,000rpm and a peak torque of 200Nm at 2,000rpm. It’s the same engine that does duty on the Ciaz sedan. This oil burner is coupled to 5-speed manual gearbox, supported by 2WD (two-wheel drive) system. Maruti Suzuki will introduce a petrol version of the Brezza during this year’s festive season. The petrol model is likely get a 1.0-litre Boosterjet motor that is capable of generating 110bhp of power at 5,500rpm and 170Nm of torque at 2,000rpm.
