Welcome rains without getting prey of malaria and other mosquitoes bitten diseases. Know how!
Here is monsoon approaching with pleasant weather. But every year rains also bring some common diseases like malaria, dengue or other mosquito transmitted diseases. In rains, mosquitoes get accumulated water to breed and lay eggs, thus their populations flourish in monsoon. All over the country rising number of mosquitoes generated diseases are reported. What is the impact of these diseases on body, only one who suffers can explain it but suffering such high fever and body pain brings person to mental and physical agony.
Government and authorities do take steps to giving medical treatment of infected people but there is a saying that, ‘Prevention is better than curing.’ There are many ways with which we can easily control the circumstances in which this infection spreads. First and most important is to control the population of the mosquitoes. Here we explain how we can prevent common diseases in rainy season –
Don’t let water accumulate – The water accumulated after rains is a paradise for the mosquitoes where they breed and lay eggs. Their eggs fertile and finally adult mosquitoes are ready to bite people. While biting people, they spread deadly virus from one to another person that’s why virus is transmitted through these mosquitoes. Mostly people say that it’s government’s responsibility to make sure water does not get accumulate. Agreed that one person cannot do it for entire city but surely one can do it for vicinity and home. Before mosquitoes bite us and make us sick, do not let their population flourish. Fill all the pits near your home and spray insecticides to control mosquito’s population. Change your cooler’s water everyday and keep a watch if water gets accumulated in pots or other places in your home.
Shut the windows; use window nets – No matter how soothing the monsoon breeze is or how good the mud smells, it is not advisable to keep your windows open for a longer time as it may allow pests to enter your house causing a lot of trouble. Get a window net fixed to your window and do not open the doors frequently to keep the mosquitoes out. The best part about a window net is that it restricts the entry of pests without blocking the cool breeze.
Keep your bathroom dry – Wet bathroom may attract pests and mosquitoes from the window of your bathroom. It is highly advisable to keep your bathroom dry at all times. Wipe off the bathroom floor after every use.
Use mosquito repellents – Mosquitoes make access from the narrowest point to enter the room. Though some mosquito repellents like smoke coils, sprays are harmful for human, it is advised to use such repellent before sleep time so that mosquitoes get repelled while trying to enter. There are some natural herbs based repellents which can also be used to prevent mosquito bites. Liquid based repellent should be used at the point which is bit away from us so that harmful element could not enter through breathing.
Change your bed linen frequently – Untidy bed-sheet or pillow cover attracts bed-bugs during monsoon. You must change your bed-sheets and pillow covers almost twice a week to keep your room free of bugs.
Keep your house clean – if the surroundings are dirty, there are higher chances of pests and mosquitoes entering your house. Keep the area in and around your house clean to keep your home pest free.
This is very true that cleanliness is the enemy of mosquitoes and filth is paradise for mosquitoes. Keep everything around you to make a mosquito hostile environment. So, enjoy rains without getting worried of above diseases and educate others as well who keep on blaming authorities for rising number of malaria like diseases in rains.
