However, there are certain things that employees keep doing without thinking much about their after-effects, which ultimately lead to their termination from their current job. Not mingling with your team – Your workplace is where you spend a large part of your day, and if you don’t mingle with other co-workers, chances are you won’t survive for long. This attitude of yours will either put you in a state of melancholy or detach you from everyone around, which will ultimately lay the groundwork for your termination from the current job.

Not taking initiatives – Whenever a new project comes, or activity is announced, the senior management looks out for young employees who want to take an initiative and execute that project successfully. It’s a sign that the employee is serious about his job and intends to reach onto newer heights. By not taking any such initiative, you send an exact opposite message to the higher management that you’re not serious about your future with the organization.

Misusing your company’s internet – you’re the dumbest person alive if you think you can watch/download movies or apply for new jobs using your office internet, and no one will catch you. Switching to incognito mode can’t save you for long. Sooner or later your company’s IT department will come to know about it. So, hold on until you reach home.

Coming late and leaving early – We’ve all done or at least thought about coming late to work and leaving early at some point in our professional lives. There’s no risk in coming late to work occasionally, but issues happen when it becomes a habit. Believe it or not, the management knows it all. If it’s not pulling the trigger now, chances are it’s waiting for the right opportunity.

Ignoring company’s rules – If company has a dress code or prohibited smoking at work areas, better to follow the rules enacted. Company executes rules to maintain discipline at workplace and instructs all employees to religiously follow these. If any employee is not following rules and repeated violators get highlighted and face strict action including termination from job.

Missing your project deadlines regularly – Each time a new project is assigned to you, a lot of expectations, delivery pressure and risk of losing a client come with it. Dating or flirting with your female colleague – If you had been a stud guy at college time, better to give it up before you enter professional work as job life it totally opposite to student’s life where some act are considered heinous.
