Datsun launches Redi GO with 2.34 Lac price.
After weeks of speculation about its starting price, the Datsun redi-GO was finally launched by Nissnan at a price of Rs 2.39 lakh for the base model, among five different variants. The top-of-the-line model will go up till Rs 3.34 (both prices ex-showroom Delhi). After two rather unsuccessful previous attempts at luring Indian markets with the GO and GO+, Datsun is aspiring to get third time lucky with the redi-GO.
The small car is based on the same CMF-A platform as its Renault cousin, Kwid that has proved to be a raging success in the country. However, it sports a tall-boy design as opposed to the Kwid’s squatting SUV stance.
A large hexagonal front grille, dashes of silver on the scuff plates and leaf-shaped headlights add to the unique appearance of the redi-GO.
The car will be available in five different body colours.
Though, it continues to be powered by the Kwid’s 799cc three-cylinder unit. Mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, this engine is good for 54PS of peak power and 72Nm of maximum torque. The Japanese carmaker claims a fuel efficiency of 25kmpl on the redi-GO.
Bookings for the Datsun redi-GO had already commenced last month and deliveries are expected to flag off immediately with the car now launched.
The Datsun redi-GO will lock horns against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 and the Hyundai Eon apart from the Renault Kwid, in the Indian market.
