Effects of overuse and mishandling of latest technologies by school students.

The rapid revolution in technology has affected our life style drastically and led us to believe that our lives have changed for better. A limited use of gadgets can be quite useful for children as it will allow them to be update with current technology. However, the overuse of these advancements can really hamper or even damage their development in personal growth, communication and education. Though we cannot deny the endowments that current era of advancements has provided us with, but like any other thing, we cannot deny the fact that there is always two sides of everything : Good and Bad.

The four ways by which the overuse of technology has influenced our children in an adverse manner are –

1. Elevated Exasperation – These days children indulge themselves in internet, games or texting which affected their physic leading to increased frustration. When their parents ask them to take trash out, they get furious. This behaviour has shattered many parent-children relationships.

2. Deteriorated Patience – Tolerance is vanishing due to improper use of technology. E.g. children get frustrated quickly when they surf net.

3. Declining Writing Skills – Due to excessive chatting and shortcuts, the writing skills of students have declined. Children are relying more and more on digital media.

4. Lack of Physical Interactivity – Today youth interact each other online social media sites and applications. Due to this they don’t know how to interact with others when they meet them in person.

No doubt technology is a necessity to survive and flourish in this age of advancement, however parents should control their children by keeping an eye on excessive usage. By doing this we will be guiding children to be on right track and prudent use of technologies will be proven beneficial rather than a curse.
