Mr. P S Kang – Director, Edlive Group.
Mr. Kang shared his views about some general problem faced by children from the beginning of their education such as exam stress, imbalance between parent’s expectation, consistent low grading, disrespect to teachers, parents and family members. He further emphasized the need of strengthening the education system by making efforts from all members of the society including parents, teachers, Government and NGOs and children as well.
Ms. Kajal Dhingra – Gurukul World, Mohali.
Ms. Dhingra raised her concerns about deterioration of moral and social values in children. This has become very common to be rude, stubborn and disrespectful to teachers in most of the children. She emphasized the need of moral education, moral values and life skills classes for school children. Not only school teachers but parents and family members of the children should equally impart moral values in children. Teachers are often criticized for their teaching style and strictness but if we see flip side of the coin, lapses are from parent’s side as well. So parents are required to see the daily dairy of the children and put their remarks.
Ms. Navpreet Kaur – Golden Bells School, Mohali.
Ms. Navpreet Kaur shared her views about impact of advancement of technology on children. Computer devices, smart phones and internet have become 24/7 library for children. Instead of using their brain, children have straight answer from one source – Google. It’s becoming a big reason behind the loss of personal touch between children and their family and peer group. Children spend more time at homes and parents need to be resourceful to the children and should give time to solve their problems. Children will find it more interesting and will like to talk to parents instead of getting revolved around internet. She also emphasized the need of vocational education from 8th to 12th standards.
S. Avtar Singh Samadh Bhai Ji.
A noted social worker and sports promoter, Samadh Bhai Ji shared his personal life experience and stressed on need of education and skills to become successful in life. It’s education and skills which will take us on heights and without education people’s life is directionless. He further delivered a valuable advice to parents – Do not spend money on your children, what all you have to spend is time. His views were well applauded by the participants.
