Win over your audience with “Effective Presentation.”
In my previous article, I explained details about two P’s of the effective presentation-Planning & Preparation, so now I will continue with sharing my views about the remaining P’s-Practice & Perform. Merely planning and preparing do not make us a successful presenter as the process does not end till effective performance. Therefore, it is required for a presenter to practice before any presentation. Practice enables a presenter to detect the relevance & structure of the content & total time required to cover the content. Practice of the presentation should not be under estimated as it makes the presenter to understand the contents, possible questions etc. Mock practice session should be in the presence of a mock audience with a formal planning.
Practice should be started from opening by greeting the audience followed by presenter’s introduction & brief explanation of presentation’s agenda to the audience. Presentation should not be restricted to reading & speaking the content but to explain it with examples & illustration. A presenter should find the points where audience can be involved to share their points, views and experience. From opening to closing the presentation, the presenter has to adhere to the visual content. Closing of the presentation is the most important & crucial part of the presentation where the presenter has to focus on central idea & goal of the presentation, thus the same should be reiterated to the audience. Don’t assume practice session casually as it’s very crucial for a presenter, so should be formal with usage of specific & professional language.
Now, it’s the judgement day-the day of presentation in which presenter has to deliver a message to the audience without getting nervous & with high confidence & motivation. Presenter is required to wear formal and be well groomed. Be relaxed & keep your face smiling, so take proper rest hours before the presentation so that one could not look tired and dull during the presentation. Presenter’s focus should not be only on verbal communication only but also on non verbal parts such as walking pattern, eye contact, facial expressions, body language and gestures as these play an important role in the presentation.
So, it’s all about effective presentation skills in a presenter and all professionals, students & entrepreneur must develop this for success in their goal. A presenter should make a presentation memorable to the audience by leaving the positive impression of the speaker.
