The weather is neither hot nor cold and with the weather being pleasant for us, it has become favorable for mosquitoes to breed and flourish. The maximum number of mosquito borne diseases are reported in September & continues till late October. This year too mosquito menace continues in several parts of the country and hospitals are receiving several cases of dengue, malaria & chikungunya every day. After five fresh cases of dengue were reported on Thursday in the city, the total number of dengue cases in Chandigarh has gone up to 680.
With extended summers this time, dengue has started to spread quite early and is very much expected to continue until the end of this month. Though the reported cases this year are less as compared to previous years, but as the temperature has not dipped down, it will continue until October end. However government claims to have adequate treatment in hospitals, it’s better for people to take some precautionary steps to prevent these diseases to originate and further spread. Instead of dependence upon government & authorities to act, there are several measures which people can initiate in order to stop mosquito menace. Here are some handy tips to prevent dengue.
