Once the user is exhausted or confused by the constant notifications, the scammer calls posing as an IT support representative and asks them to press "Approve" or read back a One-Time Passcode (OTP) to stop the spam.

Verify through independent channels: If contacted about a problem with an account, an job offer, or a law enforcement matter, hang up immediately. Search for the official contact details yourself and reach out directly.
