Body metabolism, know what’s it and how to increase body metabolism.

Ever wondered why some people keep on eating for whole day still they remain slim and some people on average diet become overweight? It’s due to imbalance of body metabolism. In this post, I wish to share with you what is body metabolism, what’s its role in body and how to boost up metabolism. Metabolism is a chemical process in our body which helps body to burn calories I.e., speed of burning calories in the body and calories burn in a day.

Every person has an individual metabolic rate, for some it’s high which helps body to easily burn calories and low for some people which resist body to burn calories. This is the reason why some people do not need extra workouts to burn stored calories and even they eat fatty food, still they remain slim due to body’s high metabolism and high speed of burning calories. Some people inherit speedy metabolism. In men, metabolism is generally found higher than women. In most of people, metabolism gets slower after the age of 40. Although there is no control on genetics, gender and age, there are certain ways to improve metabolism of the body. Here are some –

Drink water – Drinking 6-8 liters of water everyday helps body to increase metabolism and toxins and extra fat from the body. Even a mild dehydrated body can slow down the metabolism. Drink water after some intervals than drinking it once in whole.

Eat after every three hours – Eat 4-6 times in a day and avoid skipping meals. Failing to eat constantly can slow down the metabolism and store fat in body. If you eat large meals with several hours gap between the meals, body metabolism gets slow down. Have small meals and snacks between major meals so that body metabolism keeps on maintain the speed.

Spice up you food – Spicy food helps body metabolism to be in top gear speed. Add adequate green & red chili and pepper in meals to boost metabolism.

Never skip breakfast – Your first meal of the day that is breakfast sets the metabolism for the day and keeps it steady as long as you eat after every 3 hours. If you get up too early in the morning and eat breakfast hours after, you may lose some hours of body’s process of burning calories.

Cut out trans fat – Trans fats are mostly found in biscuit, breads, fast foods, fried foods, junk foods, street foods, hotel & restaurant foods etc. Foods with trans fat may harm by increasing cholesterol level in blood and bring down good cholesterol. So, better to avoid such food as much as possible.

By physically active – Being physical active does not mean to do excessive workout in gym but adopt a lifestyle which involve your body to keep functional. Prefer to use stairs, find various reason to get up and walk if you are into sitting job profiles, do not rely on helper to get everything done I.e., fetching file, getting water etc.

Balanced diet – Balanced diet means a diet with combination of all essential elements for the body. Protein, fibre, pulses, dairy, fruits, vegetables, salads should be abundantly part of your regular diet.

Do not crash diet – To lose weight, many people stop eating balanced diet and rely on diet complements and energy drinks etc. It’s a fatal step which totally destroys metabolism of the body and once it’s damaged to an extent, it becomes very difficult for body to revive it.

Lifestyle – Many people feel pride to tell others that they party till late nights, go to bed after midnight, watch late nights movie shows in routine. If they are really doing it as common practice, they are losing body metabolism. Occasionally it may not impact but sleeping late in nights and sleeping less than 6-8 hours in night creates an imbalance in body metabolism.
